Miraflores

The Five Star Miraflores resort was founded in 1980 by the renowned developer and builder Mr. Ole Sigurdsson, pioneer in promoting innovative resort designs together with modern facilities. Miraflores has today more than 1200 apartments and town houses located in 16 different phases-each with its own design and atmosphere.

The name 'Miraflores' was derived from the words 'MIRA' and 'FLORES' meaning 'Look' at the 'Flowers'. These words are reflected throughout the resort where the most outstanding features are the landscaped sub-tropical gardens, streams, waterfalls and 20 swimming pools, all culminating in a magnificent complex where one can relax and fully enjoy the exotic surroundings.

The resort is considered one of the most prestigious resorts in the world. Its facilities include a Social Club, Bowls Club, 18 Hole Golf Course, Beach Club, Conference & Business Centre, 3 Restaurants and Bars all serviced to the highest standards.

The Miraflores resort offers a variety of entertainment including tennis and bowls. The Miraflores Club Restaurant and bar are surrounded by beautiful gardens and a swimming pool and is a fabulous meeting point throughout the day and evening for everyone of all ages. Overlooking fabulous lush gardens and the heated swimming pool, the Restaurant is open for continental breakfast, à la carte or a special menu of the day for lunch and in the evening for a fabulous dinner featuring contemporary and cosmopolitan menus mixing influences from around the world. À la Carte and Special menus of the day are also offered, along with Daily Specials that closely follow the flavours of the season. The bar of the restaurant serves bar snacks and all types of exotic cocktails and drinks. There is also a weekly cabaret at the club house and the reception area has fax/internet service and can give information regarding excursions, car hire, safety deposit boxes, flight confirmations etc.

Miraflores is also famous for its gof course which is both beautiful and challenging especially for those who enjoy their golf with elevated greens and water. Miraflores is one of the costa del sol's top leisure and golf resort developments. Located in the hills above Mijas Costa it offers breathtaking views of the countryside down to the sea. The course has a number of elevated greens which require some tough walking so a buggy is often a good idea. The 18th green is tricky with severe slopes.
